Participants stay either at (1) Latitude or (2) in nearby gîtes ( fully-equipped, rented home) and/or B&Bs.

Rooms vary in terms of  level of comfort & amenities. The hangar bedroom (with riverview balcony, w.c., bathtub) &  2 mill bedrooms are rated "Superior";  the 2 other hangar bedrooms and the single mill bedroom are rated Standard.   Most Gîtes  (fully-equipped holiday homes rented by the week) and B&Bs that Latitude uses are rated Superior . However, there are several Standard and/or single rooms in some gites; those who book early have the best chance of securing one of these.

Total cost, 2010

The cost per person, per course, based on double occupancy, depends on your lodging choice.

Typically, Superior  rooms are tastefully furnished with private bathrooms. Standard rooms have private or semi-private bathrooms & are nicely furnished.
 Superior --
Two double mill bedrooms & 1 double riverside bedroom in the restored tobacco hangar: $2,100 per person.
Standard -- Two other double tobacco hangar bdrms, the single mill bedroom  $1700. per person.

SINGLE OCCUPANCY: Please add $600 for single occupancy of superior double bedrooms. Add  $450 for single occupancy of  standard bedrooms.

Gites and B&Bs: Most are ranked as Superior lodging, but  some have rooms rated Standard.  Single supplements apply.

Non-participating friends, spouses, and relatives are welcome!  They pay all expenses --food, lodging, administrative costs--except the course itself. Thus, deduct $600 from the total.

Notes: (1) One bedroom in the mill is a single bedroom. However, the occupant must pass thru the main bedroom to get to this very cozy room (see photos at Take a tour of the Mill on the Accommodations page), so he or she should be a  friend or relative of the occupants of the main bedroom.

(2) If you are amenable to sharing a car, please let us know so we can put you in touch with other participants.

Currency  Payment can be made either in U.S. dollars or euros.  (Note that the euro-dollar and euro-pound rate fluctuates. At this writing, the euro is very strong....)

For  U.S. participants:  Check the dollar-euro exchange rate (it fluctuates daily) the day you plan to pay. (Check www.oanda.com--but, note, they give rates for $1 million, not less. Thus, add 3 points to the figure given at oanda.com or check with your bank for the going rate.)  If the euro is strong and the dollar weak, you are better off paying in dollars.

To change Money in France: You will get the best rate with an ATM card. (Avoid Travellers' Cheques or exchanging money at an airport or elsewhere.) Be sure to have the proper number of digits as your code before leaving the States. (Best to check with the card- issuer.)

Please remember: There is a non-refundable deposit of $400 and a cancellation fee. (Exception: If the course is cancelled for any reason, the deposit will be refunded in full.)

Cancellations:The amount of the cancellation fee depends upon the date of written confirmation of the cancellation. (Details on Booking Form.) You are greatly encouraged to get travel and medical insurance in case of emergencies. Note: One recent participant could not attend a course due to a death in her family. Luckily, she had travel insurance which reimbursed her airfare and Latitude payment.
