Dear friends,
It is my pleasure to invite you to a series of week-long courses & evening conferences at Latitude, a unique cultural center in the countryside of southwest France. Latitude is organized in France as a non-profit association under the Law of 1901. Its Board of Directors all live in the Lot, part-time or full-time.Latitude encourages you to experience local life and to explore "The Province of the Past" (as an article in The Atlantic Monthly magazine, January, 2001, calls the department where Latitude is located). Thus, every minute of every day is NOT scheduled, leaving you time for relaxation, exploration & discovery. At the same time, Latitude staffers are on hand to provide travel tips, opinionated restaurant reviews, detailed maps, bus schedules, addresses of nearby artists & stables, etc.
English & French are the languages of instruction at Latitude.
In either language, there are two
course prerequisites: curiosity about
the topic & the ability to understand the language at least at
the
intermediate level.
However, if
a class is marked PROFESSIONAL, it is aimed at
professionals in the field. (This is indeed the exception; in the
main, courses are geared to the interests of the layperson.)
Note: There are weeks in English and weeks in French. During any week marked Total Immersion, only French is spoken--during classes and meals.
I sincerely hope that you will consider including
Latitude
in your travel plans, either by integrating a course (or two)
into
a longer European journey or as a stand-alone experience.
With my best wishes,

E.
Barbara
